The Harrisburg Area Transportation Study (HATS) is reminding residents of Cumberland, Dauphin and Perry counties to take a short survey on where they’d like to see electric vehicle (EV) charging stations installed.
The survey remains open through February 28.
The public’s input will help to prioritize stations in places like downtown areas, shopping centers, event venues and more, according to Andrew Bomberger, executive director of the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission (TCRPC), which administers HATS.
“EV charging stations are growing as an integral part of our transportation infrastructure, and people can let us know where they think they’ll be most beneficial,” Bomberger said.
The HATS effort grew out of PennDOT’s Community Charging Program and the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program, he said.
