NEVI COMMUNITY CHARGING PROGRAM ––
The 2021 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act created the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program to provide states with funding for the development of EV charging infrastructure. After successfully implementing the initial phases of their Pennsylvania NEVI Plan, PennDOT has moved onto the Community Charging Program, which focuses on "deploying charging stations in communities and other prioritized locations in accordance with the priorities developed by transportation planning agencies throughout Pennsylvania".
More information on PennDOT's NEVI Program is available here.

As part of the Community Charging Program, HATS is distributing a short survey to gather input from the public and stakeholders on where electric vehicle charging stations would be most beneficial. The input gathered from the survey will inform the prioritization of communities and "use cases" (shopping centers, event venues, downtown areas, etc.), which will be presented to HATS in 2026.

HATS staff will be hosting a virtual public information session on November 12, 2025 at 6:00 pm. Registration (available here) is required.
