Regional Planning Area Representatives
Every two years, representatives are appointed by the Dauphin and Perry Boards of County Commissioners based on nominations from the County Planning Commissions and seven (7) specific geographic areas, called Regional Planning Areas.
Regional Planning Area representatives need not be elected officials or employees of a municipality, but rather someone who lives in the designated regional planning area with interest, energy, time, and who can represent the viewpoint of the Regional Planning Area in planning matters.
Once submitted, nominations are compiled and forwarded to the appropriate Board of County Commissioners for consideration. The representative is contacted directly by the Commissioner’s office of his/her appointment before the first meeting of the year.
The appointed member will serve on the Commission for a two-year term. Regular attendance is expected at TCRPC meetings, which are held on the fourth Thursday in the months of January, March, May, July, September and November at 3:30 p.m. at the TCRPC office in Harrisburg.
