Outreach Programs
While outreach has been a traditional mainstay of the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission's (TCRPC) program; in 2010 the PCPC initiated efforts to integrate outreach into the annual work program. Typically the outreach will be undertaken jointly with the Harrisburg Area Transportation Study/TCRPC staff. In such cases, staff will highlight the successes of the PCPC over the course of the last year. The outreach program affords staff the opportunity to share progress on projects, highlighting initiatives and efforts with respect to future projects.
Becoming a Perry County Planning Commission Member
As mentioned earlier the PCPC is a 9-member citizen board. On occasion a seat is vacated making way for someone new to be appointed. When a vacancy to the PCPC occurs, invitations are sent out one at a time to those that have expressed interest in serving.
Sequentially the individual is first invited to a monthly PCPC meeting, where he or she is given the opportunity to provide the Commission with some information regarding his or her background. The invite also affords the PCPC the opportunity to ask the prospective member a few questions before passing the individual's name on to the Board of Commissioners for appointment consideration or seeking out another interested person from the list.
If you are interested in serving on the Commission please to submit your name and letter of interest to staff.
