Introduction![]() Greyhound offers three bus routes in and out of Harrisburg. Children, ages 2-11, can ride for 60% of the adult fare. For children under 2, 1 child can ride free when 1 adult ticket is purchased. Additional children will be charged the 60% fare. Greyhound offers seniors a 5% discount on their fare.
Their main
service center is at the
Harrisburg Transportation Center, with a waiting area,
information, and ticket purchases available. Other area
bus stop locations include Carlisle at Dickinson College.
Through the PennDOT program
“Seniors Ride Free”, seniors participating in the program can
ride free to anywhere within 35 miles of Harrisburg. This would
include York, Millerstown, Thompsontown, and Carlisle along the
Greyhound Routes. Greyhound provides weekly 10-ride tickets at
reduced fares for daily commuters on Greyhound. Call Greyhound
for details on fares and cities served. Greyhound also offers

Route 174Route 174 runs from Syracuse, NY to Harrisburg to Washington DC. The route has stops in Cortland and Binghamton New York and then in Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, West Nanticoke, Shickshinny, Berwick, Bloomsburg, Danville, Williamsport, Sunbury (the Edison Hotel), Selinsgrove, Herndon, Dalmatia, Millersburg, Halifax, Hazelton, Sheppton, Shenandoah, Frackville, St., Clair, Pottsville, and Pine Grove. After a stop in Harrisburg the route continues on through York, PA, Baltimore and Silver Spring, MD, and Washington DC. A connection to Richmond, VA is available on Greyhound Route 122. There is also a connection to Toronto from Syracuse, NY along Greyhound Route 170 stopping at Rochester and Buffalo, connecting to either Canada Greyhound Route 742 or Coach Canada Route 2708, stopping in Niagara Falls and St. Catharines to Toronto. Route 190Route 190 runs from Harrisburg to Pittsburgh. The route stops in Millerstown, Thompsontown, Mifflintown, Lewistown, State College, Port Matilda, Tyrone, Altoona, Cresson, Ebensburg, Johnstown, Ligonier, Latrobe, Greensburg, and Monroeville. (see Schedule GH.190)
Route 202Route 202 provides service between New York to Harrisburg to St. Louis / Chicago / Detroit with connecting routes to Phoenix and Los Angeles. From New York, the route stops at Newark, Mt. Laurel, and Camden New Jersey, to Philadelphia Pennsylvania. It continues to King of Prussia and Harrisburg on most trips. One eastbound and one westbound trip each day travels from New York to Newark to Easton and Allentown, PA to Harrisburg. A number of express buses bypass Harrisburg, stopping only at the PA Turnpike Rest stop outside of Carlisle. From Harrisburg to St. Louis there are number of different trips stopping at only selected cities on each trip. The Route travels from Harrisburg to St. Louis (with some traveling to Chicago and Detroit from Pittsburg). Traveling to St. Louis there are stops in Monroeville and Pittsburgh, PA, Wheeling, WV, Cambridge, Zanesville, Columbus, Springfield, and Dayton, OH, Indianapolis and Terre Haute, IN, and Effingham, IL (see Schedule GH.202). At Pittsburgh, Greyhound Route 200 provides service to Cleveland. At Columbus, Greyhound Route 234 connects to Cincinnati. From St. Louis, Greyhound Route 470 continues on to Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Amarillo, TX, and Albuquerque NM. From Albuquerque, Greyhound Route 577 connects to Flagstaff and Phoenix Arizona to Los Angeles.
