Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: myPAcommute.org is an Origin-Destination Study… what is that, exactly?

A: Origin-Destination Studies, sometimes called O-D or O&D, collect data on where people’s trips begin and end.  By finding out where people are coming from and going to, their origins and destinations, planners get a better picture of how transportation resources are being used.

Q: What do you do with all that data?

A: Now that the survey is finished, the data collected will be analyzed to better understand travel behaviors in the region and determine where transportation investments are needed. Additionally, the results of the survey will become part of our regional travel demand model, which estimates how many car and transit trips are being made.

Q: What about my privacy?

A: Your privacy is of utmost concern.  The study is anonymous.  It did not ask for identifying information, just basic demographic material.

Q: Why should I care?

A: Those who filled out the survey are making an investment in the future of their communities. Their answers will help make it easier for everyone to get around the region in the years to come.
